There’s a big change on the horizon for your weekly island newspaper. The Boca Beacon’s website will be keeping you up to date 24 hours a day, seven days a week after January 3.
That means we’ll be updating our site as soon as news happens … or at least as soon as we know about it. This will almost make us a daily paper if you think about it … and sometimes hourly.
In addition, our columnists will be featured online for the first time ever, including Delores Savas and her “EcoWatch” and “Island Animals” editorials, Harry Kalajian’s dog training tips and the Boca Grande Health Clinic’s Q&A offerings.
We will also be posting links to new photo galleries as they are uploaded, as well as spot photography and public safety updates.
As of January 3 our website will no longer be free. There will be a fee to view the contents, with the exception of public safety updates, obituaries and classified ads.
The annual cost of a subscription will be $40, or $10 per month. You can also combine an e-edition/website subscription for $72.
If you haven’t seen our site for a while, stop by and check it out. There’s some good stuff there we think you’ll like. We’re going to do our best to keep you completely updated on the website, so it will be worth your time to subscribe if you love all things Boca Grande.
