To the Editor:
Forty-two dogs and forty-nine cats have found forever homes to date during Suncoast Humane Society’s “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs” adoption special for the month of August. If you have been thinking of adding a furry, four-legged member to your family, this might be the best opportunity for you to do so.
There are many advantages of adopting a shelter animal. Adoptable cats and dogs at Suncoast Humane Society are already spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. This means they are truly ready to go home!
With the end of August nearing, you still have a little time to enjoy special adoption fees at Suncoast Humane Society during this limited-time adoption special. Their normally low adoption fee of $85 plus $12 rabies vaccine fee is now reduced even more to $10 plus $12 rabies vaccine fee for dogs and $25 plus $12 rabies vaccine fee for cats.
Our goal for this month long adoption special was 100 adoptions. Thanks to the great community support, it looks like even more pets will find their forever homes.
If you are ready to open your home to a shelter pet, visit Suncoast Humane Society’s adoption facility located at 6781 San Casa Drive, Englewood, or view all of their adoptable animals at humane.org.
For more information, contact Suncoast Humane Society at (941) 474-7884, visit humane.org, or stop by the Englewood facility.
Suncoast Humane Society has been serving animals and people since 1971. Founded as Englewood Animal Aid Society, the organization’s services and programs were soon challenged to meet the demands placed on them by the pet over-population crises.
Expansions to their facility in Englewood during the 1980s and 1990s helped the Society to more effectively provide for a growing service area. To reflect the changes, the organization became Suncoast Humane Society. Today their service area includes Charlotte County, most of Sarasota County, and the Boca Grande portion of Lee County, a total of over 450 square miles.
