John Goss, of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Design and Construction, confirmed that the markings were for the start of the project.
The low bidder on the project was White General Constructors, of Naples, with a base bid of $632,000. Bids were taken after July 11, 2024. The project was delayed by fall hurricanes. Higher bidders were Arex Builders Corp. and Sully’s LLC.
The project is BDC47-23/24 Gasparilla Island State Park Sea Grape Restroom. Sea Grape is the public beach area located north of South Beach Bar & Grille.
