Monday was first day with full lunch and dinner service
South Beach Bar & Grille has reopened in their rebuilt location with two “soft opening” private parties last week, and full opening Monday. Word is out, and diners have filled the restaurant since.
On Tuesday, Aug. 6, there was a party for contractors and everyone who worked to rebuild the original location, and friends and family were invited to celebrate on Thursday, Aug. 8.
Their menu is only slightly changed from what was served at their temporary location at Mimi’s 3rd Street Grille.
Since their soft opening, the South Beach parking lot has been full (as has the adjacent Seawall lot), and fans of the iconic Boca Grande restaurant flocked to Facebook to express their excitement over the highly anticipated reopening.
Support for the long-awaited return of South Beach came from far and wide, even as far as the United Kingdom.
“Many congratulations on completion & reopening….we were devastated to see the destruction wrought by Ian having visited on a regular basis over the last 15 yrs & have been following the rebuild closely from the other side of the Pond ….see you soon,” one Facebook commenter wrote under the Beacon’s post.
