Nancy Brinsfield Wallace, age 74, died August 28th at Talbot Hospice in Easton, Md. The cause was lung cancer. She was born January 25, 1944 in Fairlee, Kent County, Maryland, the daughter of the late William S. and Kathryn Smith Brinsfield. Mrs. Wallace graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, Pa. She worked as an Extension Agent in Rappahannock County, VA, for Perry Ellis Sportswear in New York City, for Collins Lithographing in Baltimore, MD and as an interior designer in her own firm in Baltimore, MD and Oxford, MD. Upon retirement she volunteered at the Oxford Library, the Oxford Community Center, Oxford Parks and Recreation, and Check Yourself Talbot. During the winter months in Boca Grande Florida, she volunteered at the Royal Palm Players and the Boca Grande Health Clinic Annex.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Wallace and his children Bruce Wallace III of Voorhees, NJ, Diane Wallace of Haddonfield, NJ and Karen Wallace of Haddonfield, NJ, her sons Bart Secrist of Roanoke, VA and Jake Secrist of Charlotte, NC, her twin sister Kathryn Sherwood of Barboursville, VA, her brother William Brinsfield of New York City and her granddaughter Frida Secrist of Charlotte.
Mrs. Wallace’s body has been donated for research. A family memorial service will be held in the future in the mountains of Virginia. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
