Lloyd A. “Bud” Wampach, age 92, died Friday, April 9, 2021. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Boca Grande, FL on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 10 a.m. Burial will be scheduled at a later date in Eden Valley, MN.
Bud was born in St. Cloud, MN on August 3, 1928 to Arthur J. Wampach and Anna (Hackman) Wampach. He married Celestine “Sally” Foley on August 29, 1953 in St. Petersburg Catholic Church, Eden Valley, MN.
Bud joined the Navy in 1946 after graduating from Cathedral High School and was honorably discharged in 1948. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve from 1951-1952 and was called up for active duty.
Bud graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and earned an MBA from the University of Toledo in 1964. Bud worked for the Whirlpool Corporation for 35 years, from 1955 to 1990. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, golf and time spent with his wife, Sally, of 67 years. Bud and Sally retired to the Boca Grande Club in 1989, where they enjoyed their life in paradise. Bud always said the only way he would leave this island paradise was by feet first! He will be remembered as a true gentleman and devoted family man who was strong in both his faith and fortitude.
Survivors include his wife Sally; children Dan (Jacqueline) Wampach, Patti Rae (Chuck) Wittrock and Trude Wampach; grandson Nick (Stef) Wampach; great-grandson Weston Wampach; sisters Bev (Sam) Hennen and Gwen Przybilla, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Jeff Wampach, grandson Weston Wampach, sisters Jacqueline Tomizik and Shirley Wampach.
