LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Reader grateful for deployed soldiers, their stories and what the symbolism of RED Friday is
To the Editor:
First off, I’d like to tell you how much I appreciate your fine newspaper and excellent reporting of timely happenings and news around the Boca Grande area. Please keep up the good work!
I enjoyed reading your article by Sheila Evans in the April 22, 2022 copy of your Boca Beacon. That article brings awareness to the sacrifices and commitment by our Armed Forces that chose to serve our country and are deployed around the world for the defense of freedom. E3 Jonathan Price is a fine example of this commitment, and as your article noted, is deployed to Eastern Europe. My congratulations go out to the owners of Herbeque Catering, Herbert and Danielle Prince, for raising such a patriotic son.
I would like to make a proposal that would bring more awareness of our troops deployed, and that would be the wearing of a piece of red clothing every Friday. RED meaning “Remember Everyone Deployed.” It would be a simple gesture but would mean a lot to the lonely troops far away from home, as well as to our Veterans who understand that commitment.
Thank you, and God Bless America,
Bill Fuller
