LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Need more debris hauled away? Here’s a number to call

February 9, 2023
By Marcy Shortuse

To the Editor:

Residents needing assistance with removal of storm debris on private property are reminded to apply to the Florida Division of Emergency Management by visiting iandebriscleanup.com or calling (850) 961-2002.

Lee County has collected about 6 million cubic yards of debris to date. When the March 29 FEMA reimbursement deadline passes, an estimated 12 million cubic yards of debris will have been collected throughout unincorporated Lee County and the six municipalities.

Residents can track debris collection progress, learn how to stack debris and gather other Hurricane Ian debris information at leegov.com/storm/debris.
