LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Keep your generator gassed up, cash on hand … and not just because of hurricanes
To the Editor:
As we go about our daily lives, watching our country self-destruct and slouching toward oblivion, there have been concerning developments far away that receive little attention. I listen to what people who have lived in China and our military personnel are saying about the brewing conflict with China. It is not only China’s resolve to absorb Taiwan but also their vision to dominate the world. Their military, under the command of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is becoming increasingly belligerent, brazenly initiating dangerous incidents against the military of the free world in the western Pacific. The CCP does not act hastily; they proceed methodically, and their actions are planned and approved in advance. Therefore, these incidents are not incidents at all.
Even though the CCP openly states that they will occupy Taiwan within the next few years, the military tensions could reach a flashpoint at any time, resulting in a shooting war in the western Pacific. Our fearless, heroic, and energetic leaders in Washington, along with our brilliant, woke military tacticians who shone during the Afghanistan withdrawal, would not be able to prevent it. For some unknown reason, nobody fears them.
Although the conflict would take place on the other side of the Earth, we would unfortunately be immediately affected.
To prevent the U.S. from interfering, hordes of CCP agents, who have already been living here, would be immediately activated to execute a well-thought-out plan to disrupt our power grid, communications, transportation and supply lines. Suddenly, we would lose electrical power, telephone service and the internet. Back to the Stone Age we would go, instantly. This could last weeks or months; who knows? During the last hurricane, we lost utilities for weeks. Nationwide outages would last much longer.
Here is what the aforementioned experts recommend:
• Have enough stored water, as our GIWA will not work without electrical power.
• Have enough medications on hand and create a cache of critical medications.
• Have enough cash on hand, as credit cards will not work and banks will be unable to dispense cash.
• Have enough survival (nonperishable) food on hand.
• Get a power generator.
• Service stations will run out of gasoline quickly, so it would be advisable to store some fuel, although this is not very practical.
One more thing – pray, pray, pray. Let’s hope none of this will be needed, even though it looks likely to some degree. If the 2020 election had turned out differently, we would probably not be facing this war. But hey, rejoice! We don’t have those nasty 3 a.m. tweets anymore!
