The Gasparilla Island Water Association, Inc. will temporarily change the disinfection process for its Placida and Boca Grande potable water from February 20, 2024, at 8 a.m. through April 10, 2024. The water will be disinfected with free chlorine rather than combined chlorine/ammonia (chloramines). This temporary change in disinfectant does not cause adverse health effects.
