The Boca Grande Farm & Fish Market will return to the island on Friday, Dec. 20 with some new vendors and a new environmentally friendly way of doing business.

This season, organizers are not allowing plastic straws on the premises. It is recommended that all shoppers bring reusable bags to the market.

”We do have reasonably priced, insulated reusable bags with the Boca Grande Farm & Fish Market logo on it, that will be available for purchase on site each week,” said Betsy Ventura, market organizer.

There are some some great new additions to the market this season. The French Artisan who has been with the market since its inception will be selling cheeses, and will also add prime beef, sausages, poultry and pork.

New vendors this season are Bjorn’s Honey, Bubble Farm Soap, Sassy Tart’s, Kat’s Southern Twang, Rendezvous French Bakery, and More Than Popcorn/Snack Shack.

“We are over the moon to have Aloe Organics (our local organic farmer) returning this season. She will miss opening day but will be with us the last Friday in December,” Ventura said.

The market will be open every Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from December 20 through April 24 at the baseball field at 305 Wheeler Road.

If you’d like to place an order to be picked up on opening day, contact Betsy Ventura at BetsyFVentura@gmail.com to connect with the vendor.
