The farmer’s market, which is usually held Fridays during season at Wheeler Road, could likely look a little different this spring. Currently, they are looking for a temporary site for the market until Wheeler Road is cleaned up from hurricane debris.
The location at Wheeler is not going to be available until mid-February at the earliest, said Jean Baer, owner of Local Roots which operates the market.
They have yet to find a suitable temporary location, but hope to find one soon, Baer said.
The market at Wheeler had around 35 to 40 vendors, she said. “We’d really like to have them all back, but we would definitely have all the staples: produce, bread, flowers.”
The plan is to be back at Wheeler as soon as possible. “The County has been very supportive, but no location pops out at anyone,” Baer said.
