If you have ever thought about volunteering to help out your local wildlife, now is your chance to find out more information. June Deveneau will be leading two meetings of Peace River Wildlife Rescue volunteers to be official animal transporters and rescuers on Gasparilla Island and in surrounding areas.
At the meeting, volunteers will explain and show what’s involved in transporting and rescuing injured and or sick wildlife. Being a transporter is a key role that assists a rescuer or resident in getting a contained bird or small animal to one of our local wildlife center hospitals for care, while being a Rescuer requires more hands on training which we are very happy to provide. They are looking for local residents who are truly interested in either or both of these roles and have a real interest in being apart of helping the local Wildlife. The number of attendees is limited in order to not only provide as much information as we can, but also to give enough time to answers everyone’s questions.
They will hold the two orientation meetings at the Boca Grande Community Center’s Auditorium at 131 1st Street West, Boca Grande, FL.
- The 1st meeting will take place at 10 a.m. on November 19th.
- The 2nd meeting will take place on November 21st at 1 p.m.
