Paddle launch, more beach access, reopen on Gasparilla Island

Lee County Parks and Recreation has opened the 19^th Street paddle craft launch as well as beach accesses on 1^st, 3^rd, 10^th, 11^th, 12^th, 14^th, 17^th and 19^th streets. 

Access at 3^rd Street and parking at 5^th Street were reopened last Friday, March 21. Beach access at 5^th Street remains closed at this time, according to an update from Lee County Communications Director, Betsy Clayton.

“Staff will continue to work diligently on recovery efforts,” Clayton wrote in her Wednesday, March 26 email update. “At this time, Banyan St., 4^th St., 7^th St., 9^th St. and 13^th St. accesses remain closed.”
