Island merchants hold summer sales in last days of August

While some restaurants and businesses are closed this time of year, many are still open and are rolling out sales during this Labor Day weekend and beyond. 

“There’s a lot to offer at great prices this time of year,” said Ruth Amen of The Palm on Park. “It will definitely be worth the visit.” 

The Palm on Park is having a back-to-school sale, so shoppers can stock up on Lilly Pulitzer (and while you’re there snag an enewton bracelet – all the Clemson girls are wearing them this fall). 

Christmas is coming faster than you expect, so make sure to shop these sales while they last. A note that items do sell out, and may not be there by presstime.

Some sales include:

Aqua Boutique is having a Labor Day sale Saturday through Sunday of 30 percent off all clothing. 

Ariel Ltd. has a summer sale of select shoes for $25, select home goods 50 to 75 percent off and select women’s apparel 50 to 90 percent off. 

Barbara Anne’s Jewelry and Boutique is doing their annual 50 percent off jewelry and 20 percent off clothing sale until Sept. 30.

Boca Blooms has a selection of items tagged in-store for 50 percent off. 

Boca Grande Outfitters is offering 40 percent off Oakley sunglasses and 30 to 40 percent off select fly rods (brands include Hardy, Scott, Orvis and Sage). Saturday through Monday this weekend.

Boca Grande Trading Company is offering 40 percent off everything in the “sale boat” inside the store. Additionally, select items will be 50 percent off.

Fugate’s is doing 70 percent off the clearance section and 20 percent store-wide (with some exclusions) from Friday through Monday.

Smart Studio has a sale of 50-60 percent off select items.

Special Effects is selling select items for 50 percent off when paid for with cash and 30 percent off with credit. 

Sunsets of Boca Grande is offering 40 percent off Tyler Boe, 30 percent off Dolcezza, 25 percent off Lulu-B dresses and 20 percent off all maxi dresses in the store Friday through Monday. Weekend special sea glass earrings from artist Diane Boone in a variety of colors will be priced at just $21. New items added daily to the sidewalk sale.

The Palm on Park is having an ongoing back-to-school summer sale where all of Spring ’24 is 50 percent off, plus additional markdowns on select items.
