While Lee County has not released any firm details about parking plans for Boca Grande, the county administration has already reviewed parking signage and equipment for the island. The information was shared with a county vendor and was seen at multiple staff levels.
“I need a cost estimate for parking equipment in Boca Grande,” wrote Technician Senior Jeremy Warren, in the Lee County Facilities Construction and Management. “I don’t know the full details yet of location. Admin wants some numbers for a setup.”
This research for signage was done in April, in an email. The string concerning the signage, kiosks and two-hour maximum parking signs was revealed through a public records request from the Boca Beacon. The vendor is Premium Parking.
“PP will need to inspect where these kiosks will be installed for internet and power connections,” wrote Ehab Guirguis, director of Facilities Construction and Management.
“The email string reflects a preliminary investigation into potential solutions using information from an existing vendor that has provided equipment elsewhere in Lee County,” said Tim Engstrom, Communications Specialist for Lee County.
These details were not shared with the Parking Panel, which still had members, and was meeting at the time of the discussion.
