A big Strawberry Festival thank you …

The United Methodist Women of Boca Grande wish to extend their thanks to members of the community and visitors from surrounding areas who helped make the 2023 Strawberry Festival on Saturday, March 4 an incredible success. It was truly an amazing day.

A spirit of camaraderie, fellowship and fun highlighted the event, which has as its mission raising money for local charities that support women and children in need. A final tally will be announced in the near future, but there is every indication that support of this event exceeded our expectations.

We especially want to stress that the festival could not have happened without the commitment of hundreds of workers and individuals who donated their time, household items, baked goods, wine, jewelry, books, auction and other items, along with their financial resources. Their contributions were especially meaningful in the wake of the devastation of Hurricane Ian.

On behalf of the UMW, and the many people who will be helped by the financial proceeds from the festival, we wish everyone who volunteered, made a donation or joined in the fun in any way, God’s blessings.
