2023 Saturday Halloween Costume Contest is Back

October 12, 2023
By Staff Report

Lee County announced on Wednesday that Boca Grande will have two options for those eager to celebrate the season. The previously announced “Fall Festival” will still be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, but a more traditional event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Boca Grande Community Center.

Festivities for the recently announced Saturday event will include the island’s traditional carnival games and a costume contest. Other activities offered will be tractor pictures, guess-the-candy-jar-count, find the gold pumpkin and a “golf cart or treat.”

Costume contest registration begins at 9 a.m., and judging starts at 9:30 a.m. Cart or treat starts at 10 a.m.

Festivities for the Thursday event will include bounce houses, a cake and pumpkin walk, tractor pictures, guess-the-candy-jar-count and goodie bags. One bag of individually-wrapped candy per child is appreciated. Drop off candy to the Lee County Parks and Recreation office in the Boca Grande Community Center by Tuesday, Oct. 24.

This event is sponsored by the Boca Grande Woman’s Club, The Friends of Boca Grande and Lee County Parks & Recreation.
