Spark TV premiered Boca Boys on YouTube and Spark Boca Grande TV. The pandemic sit-com ran for 10 weeks and featured Roger Lewis, James Martin, Dan Headington and Jerry Edgerton.

TEN YEARS AGO

Cayo Costa announced a family friendly kiosk next to the main beach access. The kiosk offered free children’s life jackets for visitors to borrow.

FIFTEEN YEARS AGO

The solar powered speed sign located at Gasparilla Road and 35th St. was back and working after warranty work had been performed on it.

TWENTY YEARS AGO

Barrier Island Parks Society held their annual rummage sale at the Crowninshield Community House. Items included a mint condition mandolin, housewares, furniture, books and knick-knacks.

TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO 

CSX Realty took down the for-sale sign at Boca Bay Homes as the last of the 321 units were sold.

THIRTY YEARS AGO

Friends of the Boca Grande Community Center received a generous anonymous donation totaling $250,000. The money was going to go to an Endowment Fund to generate income to help support program expenses.

THIRTY-FIVE YEARS AGO

Dredging Stump Pass had been recommended by the Department of Natural Resources and the county had issued approval.

FORTY YEARS AGO

Trash service came to Palm Island. Once a week a trash truck was floated down the intracoastal waterway to deliver the service to Palm Island residents.
