The weather has been chilly but sunny this week in Boca Grande and the fishing has started to heat up in the mid day to late afternoon hours.
We have been catching quite a few redfish on some of the higher tides with live shrimp along with some really nice sized speckled sea trout. We are also still catching some scattered pompano here and there.
Look to target both the redfish and trout along mangrove bushes and deeper grass edges.
We have also started to see the first early push of snook back in the mangroves. We really need the weather to warm up the water a little to get those snook fired up, but we are starting to see more and more snook.
It may also seem early, but spring is right around the corner, and that means tarpon season will be here before you know it. If you are looking to get out and target tarpon, contact your local fishing guide early before spots fill up.
Come on down and enjoy our great Boca Grande Fishing!
