Paul (Chico) Euwer, from Boca Grande and Ligonier, PA, died on March 23, 2026. He graduated from the Lawrenceville School, Princeton and the Wharton School. He worked for a family’s foundation in Pittsburgh.
He was Emeritus Board Member of the Shadyside Hospital Foundation; Brothers to Brothers Foundation, the Allegheny Valley School and many more were dear to him.
Chico was a true gentleman and a gentle man. He had the rare gift of making one feel valued with his warmth, great smile and unmistakable twinkle in those blue eyes. He loved a good conversation, especially about history, a subject he knew well and loved deeply. A dear friend wrote “I listened closely to his quiet voice, because inevitably something very funny or poignant would come out. He was an observer of people and wasted no time on fools.”
Chico will be missed, and lovingly remembered by his wife, Lily; his children, Lowry Sands and Peck Euwer; his stepchildren, Peter Clay and Dorsey Foote; his grandchildren John Oliver, Samantha, Madelaine and Lana; his great granddaughter, Marquesa. “Probably the best portion of a good man’s life are his nameless acts of kindness and love.” His life was a quiet testament to this truth. A service will be June 29 at Rolling Rock in Ligonier.
A service will be in the fall in Boca Grande. Contributions may be made to: The Boca Grande Health Foundation, Box 2340, Boca Grande, Florida 33921 or Brothers to Brothers Foundation, 1200 Galveston Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
