John Marley Fleming, a former resident of Boca Grande, died on August 29, 2022 in Exeter New Hampshire at the age of 92. The cause of death was Covid.
John and his wife Jeanne lived for 20 years in Boca Grande, after moving there from Michigan. In 2013, they relocated to New Hampshire, and Jeanne died shortly after their move. John was a graduate of Harvard and Harvard Business School.
He was a gunnery officer on a destroyer during the Korean war, and honorably discharged in 1955. John worked most of his career in the automobile industry with both Ford and General Motors. His work took him and his family around the work, and they lived for several years in England, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden.
John and Jeanne loved their life in Boca Grande and made many wonderful friends. John was an avid golfer, fisherman, crochet player, and swimmer. He also enjoyed reading history and watching the Red Sox. John leaves behind his three children, their spouses, and six grandchildren. He will be remembered with love, pride, and gratitude.
