Save the date! Barrier Island Parks Society (BIPS) will host the Light Keeper’s Open on Monday, Oct. 30 at the exclusive Coral Creek Club to benefit the historic Gasparilla Island Lighthouse.
BIPS is calling all golfers to join in the festivities at the charity benefit tournament, featuring a continental breakfast, scramble format, 50/50 putting contest, hole-in-one prize and award ceremony. The benefit for BIPS will help the nonprofit Citizens Support Organization (CSO) post-Hurricane Ian, which left catastrophic damage to the four local FL State Parks BIPS supports, and the three historic structures BIPS manages, maintains and preserves on Boca Grande.
Light Keeper’s Open Itinerary:
7:30 a.m. Check-in and continental Breakfast
8 a.m. 50/50 Putting contest
8:45 a.m. Rules with Golf Pro
9 a.m. Shotgun start Lunchboxes will be available at the back of the clubhouse at the 18th hole. The Light Keeper’s Open award reception and final putting contest shoot- out will immediately follow play at the clubhouse at the 18th hole.
Players, teams and sponsor support will not only help BIPS preserve history for future generations, but is sure to be an exciting, fun and friendly competitive event for a great cause!

BIPS is a nonprofit CSO for four FL State Parks, Cayo Costa, Don Pedro, Gasparilla (Boca Grande) and Stump Pass. BIPS also manages, maintains and preserves three historic structures, Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum, Gasparilla Island Lighthouse and Amory Memorial Chapel.
