To the Editor:

As a community, how do we want to be remembered?

  • As a community that worked together to solve a contentious issue, or one in which people on both sides relied on high-priced lawyers to represent their views?
  • As a community that worked together to provide Lee County Officials with a usage template to solve the Gilchrist issue, or one in which we allowed government officials to make our decisions for us?
  • A community where we banded together to preserve green space for generations to come and to support our churches’ need for parking, or one where we chose convenience over thoughtful preservation?

It boils down to parking vs. preservation. What do we want our legacy to be 25 or 50 years from now?
