The Gulfshore Tenors along with accompanist Laura Friesen will be performing at the Boca Grande Community Center at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Experience an evening of operatic delight. The collaboration of these three very talented and highly acclaimed young tenors creates a singing sensation unique to Southwest Florida. With a diverse repertoire of holiday classics, beautiful love songs, and opera hits, their performances are consistently met with an overwhelmingly enthusiastic audience response. The group has been performing for two years.

The tenors consist of Teddy Collins, Fernando Gonzales, Alejandro Viera and Gianni Vitiello.

Resident artist program director Laura Friesen obtained her masters of vocal accompaniment and chamber music degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Continuing to enjoy a long and ongoing career as a highly successful operatic ciach and pianist, Friesen has spent the past 10 years with various opera companies in the United States, Canada and Europe in addition to various international summer opera festivals. Before working with Gulfshore Opera, she was principal coach at the Virginia opera and musical director of their emerging artist program.

Collins is an original member of the group and Vitiello is the newest member. Collins, originally from Ohio, came to Naples six years ago having never had any musical experience or training. Collins is one of the original members of the Gulfshore Tenors.

Vitiello, an 18-year-old resident of Naples, is the newest member who started in October.

Their diverse repertoire includes standard love songs of the 20th century including favorites such as Unchained Melody, Nella Fantasia, and Perhaps Love as well as songs made famous by singers Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Mariah Carey and Sarah Brightman.

“My Favorite is Nella Fantasia by Ennio Maricone who wrote beautiful film scores. Their repertoire is cross over pop/opera and they all have classical training and sing with strong clear sound,” said Steffanie Pearce, director for Gulfshore Opera.

“Gulfshore Opera started an island series this year (our third year) and Boca Grande is one of the places we reached out to this year. I was very pleased to meet Marta and see the lovely little theater there. Marta and I discussed various options for a Gulfshore Opera presentation and agreed that the tenors would make a great first program to introduce our company to the community,” Pearce said.

The group has never before performed in Boca Grande. General admission tickets are $25 and reserved seats are $40.
