Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers (who manned the games and served food), especially Nancy Lingeman, our “Halloween Queen.” We thank the community for providing candy for the kids, as well as cakes for the cake walk.
Cake contest winners were: 1st place: Ian Egbert 2nd place: Joy Wyman 3rd place: Ingrun Wagschal Our pumpkin carving winner was Wyatt Steyer. Thanks to Pat Chapman, Marta Howell and Debbie Frank for their assistance with the costume contest. Thanks to all of our contest judges, including Katie Caldwell, Barbara Edgerton, Bob Elliott and John Mendez.
Also, a shoutout to Dee Wheeler, who created all these wonderful programs and who continues to be an inspiration. And to “Jungle Joe” Wier, who took over as Halloween Carnival “Guru” in 2002 and never looked back. Because of hip surgery, we missed Joe this year. Every “homemade” game is his creation. Get well, Jungle Joe!

As always, thanks to the Woman’s Club for your generosity and to Friends of Boca Grande Community Center for funding of the carnival – as well as an army of volunteers.
Always for the kids, D.J. Keisling Lee County Parks & Recreation and Friends of Boca Grande Community Center
