Children’s programs will continue with ‘Friends’ at the helm

BY MARCY SHORTUSE - The Friends of Boca Grande Community Center have announced that they will continue the children’s programs they have already been hosting, including the after-school program and the Munchkins Program.
Lots of red, white and blue will be found on the bike path this Saturday, March 17, for the annual Boca Grande Bike Parade, sponsored by Lee County Parks and Recreation.
The theme for both the bike parade and the fair to follow is “Grande Olde Flag.”
Gritsy, the wayward Jack Russell Terrier from the south end of the island, has been returned to his home after almost six weeks of absence. Thanks to all who helped look for her.
Sissy Yates Designs to be featured Thursday at Johann Fust benefit

BY ALICE GORMAN - From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, The Johann Fust Community Library will host a very special event in the loggia: Sissy Yates Designs will present a jewelry sale as a benefit for the library.
The Kruger Brothers and members of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will perform a special concert at the Boca Grande Community Center Auditorium on Monday, April 2 at 7 p.m.
