To the Editor:
I wanted to compliment Mr. Short on his terrific article in the recent Gasparilla Magazine about the Boca Grande organizations which provide scholarship funds for island students. I thought it was a clever idea for the nice people of Boca who support Boca Bargins, the spaghetti dinners and all the chamber events to see what these fundraisers really accomplish. Space permitted only a few students highlighted, but we know there are many monetary gifts given to alot of young people with dreams. Thank you for letting folks know these scholarship events are truly making a great impact and the young people are sincerely grateful. Boca Grande is a place of community heart with love and respect. What a great island to grow up on. Thank you!
