The 2015 Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble took place on October 12 on the links at The Gasparilla Inn & Club. The format was an 18-hole, four-player scramble with three flights and no handicaps.
Teams were flighted by club pro, Robert Duke, based on front or back scores. Chamber Board Member Brian Corcorna, coordinator of the tournament, said this has been one of the most successful years he has ever seen.
“We had 23 teams register to play, almost 100 players,” he said. “I’m very pleased with the turnout this year.” An awards reception was held at The Gasparilla Inn Beach Club following the golfing event. The Gasparilla Inn, Sisters Restaurant, and Publix donated food and beverages for the reception. The Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund is benefited by this tournament.
