Tickets for Suncoast Humane Society’s 8th Annual Tennis Ball have been selling quickly. Supporters are encouraged to get their tickets soon in order to secure their seat at the annual gala. The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27, in the Clubhouse at the Boca Grande Club.

The special fun and fundraiser will include a sit- down dinner, beverages and an exciting live and silent auction.

This year’s live auction will feature a three-night stay with four wine tastings at Grgich Hills Estate Winery’s VIP cottage in Rutherford, the center of Napa Valley. Also included with this exclusive trip will be $1,000 toward travel expenses. Both the live and silent auctions will offer upscale items, including art and entertainment packages.

Last year’s festivities raised over $40,000, benefiting the services, programs and homeless animals of Suncoast Humane Society. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased at the Society, their thrift stores or at the Boca Grande Club. Dinner and beverages are included with the ticket.

In addition to the exclusive items and entertainment packages in the live and silent auction, a cocktail hour will be held in the clubhouse upstairs at 6 p.m., and a sit-down dinner will follow.

Cocktail menu will include:

  • Parmesan puffs
  • Open-faced tomato sandwich with lemon aioli, bacon bits, parsley
  •  Smoked salmon roulade – dill, crème fraiche

The evening’s sit-down dinner will offer:

  • Sliced tenderloin
  • Grilled shrimp
  •  Chardonnay poached salmon
  •  Citrus tabbouleh
  •  Dessert is a brulée key lime pie

The Tennis Ball serves to kick off the Boca Grande Club’s six-week Professional Tennis Exhibition tournament. It will be held every Wednesday from Feb. 3 through March 9 at the Club. There will be men’s, women’s and mixed doubles featuring top professional and collegiate players. More information about the tennis tournament to follow.
