Obituary: Mary Louise Bowe

IMG_20150707_100421598Mary Louise Bowe, 89, formerly of Boca Grande, died in Port Charlotte on July 5, 2015.

Louise was born on September 2, 1925 in Bartow and moved to Boca Grande at age 3, where she resided until age 88.

She retired from the Boca Grande Post Office in 1985 and was a lifelong member of the Boca Grande United Methodist Church. Louise played the piano and organ at the church from age 11 until she retired in her 70s due to vision problems.IMG_20150706_204123386

She was greatly loved by family and friends.

Louise is survived by her children, Anita (Alan) Evers, Joy (Tom) Bowe, Harold (Tracy) Bowe, Amanda (Scott) Howe and Debbie Bowe; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Bowe; her son, Dale Bowe; her great-granddaughter, Kerri Marie Lovett; her parents, Troy and Thelma Speer; and her brother, Bill Speer.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at Boca Grande United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park.
