Obituary: Lois Thompson Davis

Davis_LoisLois Thompson Davis of Osterville, Mass., formerly of Boca Grande and Montreal, Canada passed away peacefully at her Osterville home on Saturday, March 21, 2015.


She was the beloved wife of Nathanael Vining Davis who predeceased her and the mother of Katharine Vining Davis of Osterville and James Howard Dow Davis of Cotuit. She leaves seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Born and brought up in Jamaica, West Indies, she and her husband were married for 64 years. Nathanael was the former Chief Executive Officer of Alcan Aluminum, Ltd. and Lois was a great and loving support during his many years of service, which included residences in London, Boston and Montreal.

Through the years she was involved in St. Peter’s Church in Osterville, St. Andrew’s Church in Boca Grande and the Victorian Order of Nurses in Montreal.

She was a member of the Chilton Club in Boston, the Vincent Club of Boston, the Wianno Club in Osterville, the Colonial Dames of Massachusetts and a former trustee of Cape Cod Academy.

A celebration of her life will be at 3 pm on Saturday, April 11 at St. Peter’s Church in Osterville.
