Sally Gambling, 83, passed away on August 17, 2013, in Sarasota. Born Sally Bard Loppacker on June 15, 1930, in Montclair, N.J., Sally grew up in Glenridge, N.J. In 1949, Sally married John A. Gambling, host of the popular morning radio show "Rambling with Gambling "on WOR in NYC. John predeceased her in 2004.
Sally and John lived most of their lives on Long Island, N.Y. Their family homes were in Plandome, Locust Valley, New York City and Shelter Island before moving to Boca Grande, Fla. Sally is survived by her son John R. & Wendy Gambling of Locust Valley, N.Y.; daughter Ann Gambling Hoffman & Edwin C. Hoffman of Bedford N.Y.; daughter Sarah Gambling McGayhey & Donald McGayhey of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; and sister Ann Glorch & Gordon Glorch of Naples.
Sally had seven grandchildren: Christian, Alexandra, Andrew, Bradley, William, Christopher, Elizabeth; and two great grandchildren, Harrison and Wyatt.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Palms in Sarasota on October 12 at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, 1515 S. Osprey Ave., Suite B4, Sarasota, FL 34239.
