Jim was a member and an employee of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3885 of Englewood, Florida. Prior to that Jim spent many years in both the construction and tile setting trades.
Jim was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed both the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles, as well as taking trips to Biloxi, Mississippi, Paradise Island, Bahamas, Atlantic City, New Jersey where he enjoyed playing cards at the various casinos. He also enjoyed golfing, playing the Florida Lottery, and attending Jazz and Blues Festivals.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon Santino, daughters, Brande, Jesse, and Nikki (John) Baer- McDonald, sons Jimmy (Angela) and Roddy Baer. Jim is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Michelle, Anthony, Jordan, Keelie, Ryann, Isabella, Mason, Eva, John, James and Chase. Jim is also survived by his mother in law, Katherine Santino VanAkin. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by his sisters, Mary May, Joanne (Jack) Donnelly, Roberta (Sonny) Smyth and brother, Michael Baer. He was preceded in death by a sister, June Barajas, a brother, Raymond Baer, Jr. and both of his parents.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, August 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 250 Old Englewood Road, Englewood, Florida.
