She was the wife of the late Frederick J. Geib.
Born in Providence, R.I. she was a daughter of the late William H. and Mary A. (Upper) Gannon.
Mrs. Geib graduated from St. Xavier Academy in 1943; and attended Rhode Island College before transferring and graduating from Katherine Gibbs School.
She worked for Narragansett Brewery in the 1940’s and later was the Treasurer of Geib Refining Corp.
Mrs. Geib was a speech pathologist for the Providence School Department for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Geib was a winter resident of Boca Grande, FL for the last 20 years.
She enjoyed sailing and was a longtime member of the East Greenwich and Newport Yacht Clubs. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling.
She was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
She leaves three children, Sharyn Wightman and her husband Kenneth of Wakefield, William Geib of Jamestown and James Geib of Glocester; a brother John “Jack” Gannon of North Kingstown; a sister, Frances Nannig of North Kingstown; six grandchildren, Jason Wightman and his wife Virginia Johnson, Stephanie Caldwell and her husband Grant, Christine Geib-Ayala and her husband Victor, Alexa, Ryan and Hanna Geib; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Wightman and Olivia Geib-Ayala.
She was the mother of the late Frederick J. Geib; and grandmother of the late Philip Wightman.
Her funeral was held Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown.
Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich.
