Obituary: Craig Borden Wolcott

Craig’s childhood was spent in Red Bank, N.J., with a keen focus on time spent on the Navesink River and at the Monmouth Boat Club where he was an avid sailor.

Craig graduated from George Washington University and found his career in finance and real estate development. His love of the sea carried Craig and his young family to the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, the New England coast and, in 1996, to Boca Grande. It was here that he embarked on his dream of captaining his own boat, “Katara.”

For 16 years Craig and his business, Boca Boats and Charters, provided indelible memories for his many loyal customers, family and friends.

Craig leaves behind Kathleen, his wife of 44 years; Tara, his beloved daughter and the light of his life; his son-in-law, Wally Diehl; his sister, Carol Sawyer, of Wayland, Mass.; his nieces, Amy and Rebecca, and their families.

He is predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth Ryan Wolcott and Reginald Borden Wolcott.

Craig lived his life with a unique sense of humor, a personality that was larger-than -life, and an outlook that remained optimistic, even in the fiercest of storms.

In lieu of donations, the family wishes for each person touched by Craig’s life to find the courage to follow their dreams and to live their lives with integrity and honesty, as Craig lived his.
Craig will be forever missed.
