Music at St. Andrew’s to feature Handel’s Messiah

Music at St. Andrew’s presents “Handel’s Messiah – Christmas Portion” on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m., featuring The Qol Quartet (qolquartet.com) accompanied by piano and string quartet. The concert is free and open to the public. Musicians who will be performing include:

Christopher Takeda, Violin: Christopher is the Associate Concertmaster of the Sarasota Orchestra and also served as associate professor at Utah State University. He received both his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Juilliard School in 1996 and 1998, respectively.

Lena Cambis, Violin: A native of Montpellier, France, Lena is a member of the Sarasota Orchestra. Lena earned a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance at the Royal College of Music in London, and she is a co-founder of the Sarasota Music Conservatory.

Sean O’Neil, Viola: Sean is the Concertmaster of the Venice Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Sarasota Orchestra. He holds a music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is a co-founder of the Sarasota Music Conservatory.

Abraham Feder, Cello: Abraham is Principal Cellist of the Sarasota Orchestra and cellist of the Sarasota String Quartet. He attended the Curtis Institute of Music and has been featured as a soloist on NPR’s “From the Top” with Christopher O’Riley.

Seth Wertz, Piano/Conductor: Seth is a native of Indiana and a graduate of Butler University. He has directed or performed on piano, organ, harp, French horn or handbells with every local orchestra and theater, and he has been a church musician in Florida since 1970. He is currently Interim Minister of Music at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Boca Grande.
