To the Editor:

In our busy work-a-day world sometimes it’s easy to pass on pitching in when events are organized in and for our community. The assumption being that someone else will be at the ready to step up when volunteers are needed. In some communities, I’m sure, help never comes, or does in so many bits and pieces, it requires logistical planning reminiscent of when NASA put humans on the moon. But in our community we have a resource that takes on these herculean tasks with such ease that would make a rocket scientist blush.

Of course, I am talking about our volunteers from Englewood Bank & Trust. They can be found at every event here locally. Pleasant, prepared and enthusiastic. Everything you think of when you think of community, and why not? These volunteers are made up of members of our community. They are our bankers and our friends. They care and are involved from planning to accomplishment. On behalf of the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce, I would like to give our heartfelt thanks to our friends and neighbors at Englewood Bank & Trust. We could not put on these events without you all. Well done.
