To the Editor,
We are responding to the letter published in the Oct. 25 Beacon from Mr Len Tatko concerning potential solutions to parking issues in town. He concludes his letter with the statement that “Boca Grande wants to look like 2013.”
We would like to offer the perspective of nonresidents who have spent a fair amount of money on rent, shopping and dining in Boca over the past 15 years, precisely because it does not look like 2013.
For people looking for a more “modern” experience, there are many other locations in southwest Florida that look like 2013, but it appears obvious to us that the understated charm and small town appeal of Boca is what attracts visitors.
Gilchrist Ave. plays a central role in the overall character of Boca, and we hope the final solution is as minimal a change as possible.
