Letter to the Editor: A big 'thank you' from Strawberry committee

The United Methodist Women of The Lighthouse Methodist Church extend heartfelt appreciation to each and every one in the Boca Grande community for their support of the Strawberry Festival held Saturday March 2.

I write this letter fresh off a sermon preached this morning by Pastor Brian Brightly which reminded all of us that we are to persevere and never give up because there are so  many who need those of us who can help to make a difference. We are called to transfer the love of God through us to others and that is what we see time after time when the community of Boca Grande is called upon to give and donate, to plan, to work, to share God’s love and to help those who are “the least of these.”

In our paper week after week we read letters of thanks and gratitude to this loving and caring community which clearly attests to the extravagant generosity of each and every merchant, committee person, volunteer, islander and visitor alike.

We give special thanks to our church staff, Boca Grande Community Center staff and our EMTs.

And  again, we say THANK YOU to Boca Grande for sharing in the mission of the Strawberry Festival and United Methodist Women as we seek to serve women and children in need in communities near and far.
