Letter to the Editor: Loyal reader loves Star Gazer column

(This letter was written to the Beacon and to Jeff Rodgers, our Stargazer writer who is the director of the Bishop Planetarium)

To the Editor:

I have always enjoyed your monthly stargazing articles in our island paper. Your charts are clean and easy to read. I also think it’s wonderful for a professional astronomer to share science in a manner we can all learn and enjoy.

I always get a kick out of your antidotes and historical facts. You have reminded me about many meteor showers I might have missed. My family hopes to join you on the beach for star gazing this season.

Anyway it’s nice to know someone else gets that great feeling seeing Orion for the first time in a season.
