To the Editor:
If you’ve been in Englewood on Labor Day weekend in the past 53 years then you’ve seen Englewood pay homage to their pioneers. Over these years many organizations, clubs and businesses have rolled up their sleeves and gone to work to give thousends of spectators many hours of enjoyment with their families and friends.
This year the first Grande Tours Grand Prix Paddleboard race was added in conjunction with the ever-popular Cardboard Boat Races. The event was a big success and a real crowd pleaser! Grande Tours played a small part in the entirety of events, however the process of preparation for such a large event was very impressive to me. There were meetings and planning sessions frequently and lots of hours donated by folks living in our community.
Being my first time to be involved I was blown away at how many people give endless hours of their own time and energy to make this all happen. This year’s theme was “Hats Off To Englewood.”
I think we all agree to say “hats off” to all of you folks that made it possible. Can’t wait til next year!
