As chairs of the “Grande Olde Flag” Fair Committee, we would like to send out a big thank you to all those who helped make the 2012 Woman’s Club Fair a big hit and great time for all.

We are grateful to each of the ladies of the Woman’s Club who jumped right in and performed their jobs to perfection. Proof of their success was evident in all the happy faces and noises of the day. The list is endless, but we would particularly like to thank the following for their talents, time devoted and hard work: Bake sale, Chrys Hyde; games, Shelly Lewis; concessions, Pauline Mendez and Marianne Schlect; decorations, Bonnie Slomkowski and Diane Johnson; cake walk, Carol Lindenbaum; popcorn, Weezy Scott and Mary Jo Wilson; publicity, Camille Williams; posters, Bette Lyons; emcee, Charlie Field.
The backbone of this event is always the incredibly capable and hard working Lee County Parks and Recreation staff led by Bob Greene and Joe Weir.

Thank you to them doesn’t begin to cover it! Lemon Bay High School students from the Junior Varsity Football team provided manpower that we truly could not have done without and the L.A. Anger Middle School Jazz Band really stepped up our game by providing lively music for the parade and fair. Many thanks to these fine young people that gave us their Saturday! Much appreciation is due also to the Boca Grande Fire Fighters for their valued assistance.

Finally, we would like to express our appreciation to the Boca Grande community as a whole for the support Woman’s Club projects receive throughout the year, enabling us to meet our goals.

Sincerely,

Penn Branin and Mary Keevil
Boca Grande Woman’s Club
