The 2017 Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament is gearing up for another exciting year of tarpon fishing. The event will be held on Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday, May 13 in Boca Grande Pass from 5 to 8 p.m.

The awards ceremony will follow immediately after at the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce, 471 Park Ave., Boca Grande. The registration fee is $600, and the deadline to get your name in the program is today, April 7. All money is due by April 14. The Captain’s Party will held at the Crowninshield Community House on Friday, May 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. Enjoy music and a photo booth provided by Jam All Day. Food will be catered by Karen Kelley and Dan Nuzzi.

Brendan Coudal is back for the 2017 Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament with a few of our favorite things – mermaids, dolphins and tarpon. The art titled, “Mermaids Do It Better” depicts a mermaid winning the Ladies Day Tarpon Tournament for the first time ever.

A limited edition of 200 posters signed by Brendan may now be purchased at the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce or on the chamber’s website, bocagrandechamberofcommerce.com. Pre-order Tervis tumblers, t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts and Columbia’s by visiting the Chamber or the website, ladiestarpon.com.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Loveland Center, a nonprofit organization that assists individuals with developmental disabilities through education and vocation programs, as well as offering housing. Visit lovelandcenter.org for more information.
