For Lee County island residents, voting will be at Precinct 19, the Boca Grande Community Center, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Charlotte County island residents will be voting at American Legion Post 113 in Rotonda, 3436 Indiana Rd.
We have posted explanations of the amendments in the last three papers, but here are some relatively objective web sites to peruse if you’re still trying to determine which candidates to vote for.
The Englewood Area Radio Society (EARS), will be on island this weekend for their annual Lighthouse Event.
This year, for the first time, the Coast Guard has given permission for the group to set up a radio at the Range Light, as well as their usual radio at the Boca Grande Lighthouse.
The Society will be be broadcasting and receiving from the island between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
In years past, the club has contacted operators as far away as South America.
BY NORA LEA REEFE - Jane Godshalk, an internationally recognized award-winning floral designer, who serves on the faculty of Longwood Gardens, one of the finest botanical gardens in the US, will be the featured speaker at the first meeting of the Boca Grande Garden Club on November 7, at 1 p.m. at the Boca Grande Community Center Auditorium. Her topic will be “Artful Holiday Arrangements,” featuring local tropical plants and flowers, utilizing her knowledge of both horticulture and floral design, and focusing on nature as her inspiration and flower arranging as an art form.
