BY NIKKI HEIMANN - Islander David Miller is training in Scottsmoor at this moment to be a wilderness guide for the nationally-recognized organization Outward Bound.
Kayla Reid had an amazing time catching a tarpon on day two of the 2013 World’s Richest Tarpon Tournament. The catch was the second for her team, fishing aboard the Knight Brothers 28 with Capt. Eric Knight.

The Barrier Island Parks Society, in cooperation with Lee County Parks and Recreation summer day camps, hosted Edward Winn as he presented his soon-to-be released book, “Gone but not Forgotten Mighty Calusa Indians.” The presentation will be held in the Boca Grande Community Center on Wednesday, June 5 at 10 a.m.
