Silent auction items for 'Kids in Kandyland'

We told you last week about all of the live auction items up for bid at the annual Boca Grande Child Care Center fundraiser, which will be held on Monday, March 18 at the Boca Grande Club at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “Kids in Kandyland,” and it seems more than apt considering this year’s silent auction items might make you feel that way.

Items include:

• A round of golf for four guests at three of the top private courses in the area – The Gasparilla Inn & Club, Lemon Bay and Coral Creek
• Golf lessons by Robert Duke, head golf pro at Gasparilla Inn & Club
• An adventurous quail hunt in central Florida and lunch with John Hillenbrand
• Original art by local artists Jane Carlson, Jack Horner, Carol Swayze, Arlene Thompson, Dr. Bill Heisel, Susan Schaffer (pottery), Jane Pasman (Sailor’s valentine), Nancy Jaekels (hand-crafted and painted purse) and Karen Grace (handmade needlepoint purse)
• Whimsical miniature room model of a toy shop, created by Susan Jansen
• Original watercolor from “Raggedy Ann’s Lucky Pennies” by Johnny Gruelle
• Painted portrait of your beloved pet by Pamela Campbell
• Gift certificates for dinner at Third Street Cafe and Libby’s in Sarasota
• A dinner for eight, including a casserole of your choice from the Grapevine, accompanied by the services of Marjorie Robertson for serving, bartending and clean-up View More images >>
• Donations from many local vendors including Barbara Ann’s, Ariel, Native Gardens, Banyan Tree Pilates, Park Place Liquors, Palm on Park, Courtyard Hair and James Griffith Salon
• Radio Flyer wagon and canopy donated by Mario and Mary Kay Pasins
• Island favorite, “My Little Friend” books and sweaters, donated by Evelyn Finnegan
• Custom stationery package donated by Cici Ives

The cost to attend the function is $150 per person. Dinner at the “Kandyland” event will be complimentary for those who wish to be sponsors. Platinum patron sponsorships are $5,000. There are also patron sponsorships in the amounts of $1,000 and $500.
