Fabulous prizes await you in photo contest

It’s a beautiful time of year to be in Boca Grande, and we at the Boca Beacon would like to see more of it. Because we are confined within four walls much of the day while our reading populace is out golfing, beaching and barbecuing, we have decided to live vicariously. We will even bribe you if we have to.

This week we are beginning a new photo contest. We will announce new topics occasionally, and each time our readers will have a month from the time of announcement to get their photos in to us.

The winner will receive a year’s subscription to the Boca Beacon, a fantastic decorative Beacon license plate and bragging rights to have your photo printed in the Beacon next to the world’s greatest news photographers’ works (Dusty, Daniel, Marcy and Liza, if you have to ask).

All photos should be submitted to mshortuse@bocabeacon.com. If you don’t get a response that it was received, be sure to call our office at 964-2995.

The topic for the first leg of our contest is “iconic Boca Grande.” What shot totally epitomizes the island for you? We want to know. The deadline will be March 15.
