Last week, the Boca Grande United Methodist Church kicked off its 29th year of serving pancake breakfasts to the community. Several hundred people enjoyed grits, eggs, sausage, toast, pancakes, juice and coffee. Some 40 volunteers helped prepare and serve the breakfasts.

View More images >>Ruth Paschall, who has been chair of the event for seven years, says the crowd was even better than in past years. “We had a dozen or so new people this year and that was very exciting. They joined the

returning crowd that just loves these breakfasts and looks forward to them every season.”
The pancake breakfasts will be every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. through March 28 in the fellowship room of the Methodist Church.

The breakfast is free but contributions are welcomed.
