Woman’s Club scholarship deadline nearing

The Boca Grande Woman’s Club Scholarship Committee will begin to review applications from local seniors in high school in early February. These seniors are either residents of the island or have a parent who has been working in Boca Grande for at least two years.

In order to qualify, students from Lemon Bay High School should receive and complete a scholarship packet from Mary Jo Holleran, the senior guidance counselor. This packet includes recommendations, high school grades and class rank, extra-curricular activities and a goal statement.

For those seniors not at Lemon Bay, the Boca Grande Woman’s Club has its own application. In addition, qualified adults pursuing a college degree are encouraged to apply. This application can be obtained by writing to the BGWC, attention scholarship chairman, PO Box 65, Boca Grande, 33921.

The deadline for receiving all applications is February 15, 2013.
